The Moment I Notice I’m Rushing

One thing I’ve learned is that rushing has a feeling.

My breathing changes.

My thoughts become loud.

Everything suddenly feels urgent.

Nothing good happens after that.

So I interrupt it.

I slow my walk.

I put the phone down.

I take one longer exhale.

I remind myself,

“Nothing important will be solved by panicking.”

Sometimes that’s enough to change the rest of the day.

Not because life became easier.

Because I became more present inside it.
